Dear Poyner Parents,

 

            In March we are very fortunate to have two authors come to our school.  Dr. Paul Mullen will have an assembly for all of the students on March 26.  He has written The Day I Hit a Homerun.  Dr. Mullen is a featured speaker at schools and state reading conferences across the United States. He inspires within children the importance of committing early in life to their dreams. His books engage children, and parents enjoy reading them to their children because he teaches our youth the importance of family and wholesome values on the way to their becoming champions.

 

On March 29 and 30, Jeanette Hopkins will be here to meet with our K-2 students.  She has written the The LadyBug Waltz.  She will meet with each class to read her book and share background information about the book.  She will also help the students to build vocabulary and answer questions.  A preorder form for her book is being sent home.  Please have the orders to the school by March 23, if you are interested in ordering.  (I apologize for the timing; however, the author did not know about our break.)
